Intern in Probation Department 

Spring 2015

  • Was awarded "Intern of the Year" for exemplary work throughout the semester and for making a positive contribution to the Probation Department. 
  • Updated all files for probationers who were up for case reviews. Implemented new filing system that resulted in an increase in efficiency across the department. 
  • Worked closely with Probation Officers to ensure that probationers were following through with providing required documentation and attending their scheduled court dates.
  • Administered drug screening exams for probationers and entered results into database. Communicated to officers which probationers were scheduled for drug screening exams and which were non-compliant with the exam.

  • Developed and managed major fundraising campaign that raised over $1500 to go toward the building of a well in Somalia. Fundraising campaign was recognized by the nation ONE Campaign for its success in raising awareness of poverty on the Curry campus and in the surrounding community. 
  • Run weekly meetings, manage website, and act as the club liaison to the College administration.

  • Planned and conducted a course of English language instruction for non-native speakers. Redesigned syllabus into new format which decreased student confusion and increased the number of assignments that were tuned in on time. 
  • Taught an 8 week long civics course to people seeking citizenship. Assisted students in preparing for citizenship test. Student test success rose 30% during this 8-week period.
